CJ CGV, A South Korean based company will soon be opening it’s Laboratories in LA right in the middle of Hollywood. The goal of a 4D cinema would be to fully immerse you in the film, creating a full body experience. As quoted:
“Let’s say you’ve got Harry Potter on his broomstick playing Quidditch,” said Guy Marcoux, vice president of marketing at D-Box Technologies, a Canadian firm that has motion-synchronized seats installed in 98 venues worldwide. “We will make you feel as if you are on that broomstick. If he banks left or right, you’ll feel that, or if he drops, we create that free-floating effect. And if wind is coming, you’ll feel vibration in your chair.”
Seems extremely interesting! I would definitely love to experience it…give me a good horror or active flick, and I imagine that it’ll make for an incredible experience. I was so doubtful about 3D catching on, and was sure it was just going to be a short gimmick …now that it’s really taken off, I don’t see why this couldn’t work! I imagine the tickets being crazy-expensive though.
