Molly Ringwald, Juliette Lewis Join ‘Jem and the Holograms’

Because everything nostalgic is new again, 80s cartoon classic Jem and the Holograms is getting a live-action, big screen reboot…and with an entirely new, young cast. But that doesn’t mean some familiar faces from the 80s and early 90s won’t be getting in on the fun.

Molly Ringwald, the 80s teen movie queen who made her name on the movies of John Hughes, is joining the cast alongside Juliette Lewis, who gained fame for her Oscar-nominated role in Martin Scorsese’s 1991 remake of Cape Fear.

The roles for Ringwald and Lewis have not been revealed, although it should be noted that Lewis is as famous for her rock career as she is for acting, serving as the frontwoman for Juliette and the Licks before launching a solo career in 2009. Could Lewis possibly play the role of Pizzazz, leader of rival band The Misfits? And could Molly Ringwalkd be Synergy, the holographic computer that is basically the Zordon to Jem’s Power Rangers? Hopefully, director John M. Chu will spill the beans soon. The anticipation is killing us!
